Conservative talk radio and the GOP message are declining

Sat Oct 08, 2005 at 06:34:04 AM PDT

Conservative talk radio, long an outlet for the GOP message is declining thanks to liberal radion and the internet. There are signs that the Republicans could be losing some of their overwhelming edge, however. Ratings for Limbaugh and Hannity slipped this spring in some markets. Liberals such as Ed Schultz, Stephanie Miller and Al Franken are carving out their own radio niche. And Democrats argue that they have an edge on the Internet, where explosive growth could dwarf the political impact of radio.
Some of that could be just wishful thinking by Democrats. The slip in ratings, for example, could be a normal drop in political interest after an election year. They also could be untrue - radio ratings are difficult to measure. And even if Limbaugh and Hannity have fewer listeners than they did in the past, they still have millions more than liberal talk show hosts.

Mr. Kos is becoming an impediment to the gay right movement

Mon Oct 03, 2005 at 05:04:16 PM PDT

While I don't like homosexuality I hate the facts that Kos has taken it upon him to out gays or their sympathizers even when it is in the best interest of gay right advocates to keep such identities secret as in the case. I am beginning to wonder if Kos is not too emotional and childish. Kos, please grow up. This front page post is an example of how Kos is harming the cause he claims to protect.

Iraqi president agrees with Feingold on setting a deadline for Iraq withdrawal

Fri Sep 09, 2005 at 11:20:37 AM PDT

Iraqi president agrees with Feingold that setting a deadline to withdraw from Iraq is not a bad idea after all. Iraqi President Jalal Talabani said Friday he believes that within two years, there'll be no further need for U.S. forces there. Sen. Russell Feingold, D-Wis., actually has called for setting a deadline for the removal of U.S. military forces from Iraq, the first member of the Senate to do so. Let those extremist democrats and the DLC take note. They are not reading the public sentiment well. The truth is that the United States of America has lost the war in Iraq. Mrs. Clinton, Biden, DLC etc., why do you want to keep digging? These fools are actually calling for more troops. Go figure. What a shame?

McCain: Bush right to avoid Sheehan

Wed Aug 24, 2005 at 01:05:11 PM PDT

'If I was president of the United States, I probably wouldn't' meet with her, Ariz. Senator.

I have always believed that McCain is a crazy nut and an idiot. He made it clear during the last election. He will say one thing and do another. I was so incensed when Kerry was considering him for a Vice President. I was even more incensed when the other opportunist Hilary Clinton declared on her first appearance on Fox News last year with Lindsey Graham that she would support the ticket if Kerry chose McCain as his running mate.  Biden also said so. These fools said that solely for political gains only. They ignored honorable and proven leader like Wes Clark.

I hope some of these so called liberal and moderate Democrat call McCain out for what he is; a Crazy opportunist. Even some Kossacks drank the Kool-Aid. The good news is that he will not win the Republican Nomination
Viva Presidente Wes Clark. You heard it from me first.

Kos: Tom Delay Can Be indicted by Ronald Earle, the Travis County District Attorney

Mon Aug 15, 2005 at 02:19:22 PM PDT

It is not often that I disagree with either Kos or Armando.  The other time I disagreed with Kos was during the primary when he fiercely supported Howard Dean and I fiercely supported Wes Clark, as I will do again enthusiastically in 2008. So it is with great pain that I have to state that Kos was wrong when he stated in the front page that Ronald Earle, the Travis County District Attorney, has no jurisdiction over Delay.

Progressive Radio has come to Houston - Bush's Hometown

Tue Jul 12, 2005 at 08:25:43 PM PDT

I could not believe my ears when I heard Ed Shultz Show on Houston's 740 A.M. KTRH.  I later found out that Ed Shultz show is broadcast from 6 P.M. to 9 P.M. Monday through Sunday. Ed Shultz has a magnificent Radio voice. He sounds better that Rush Limbaugh. Why is he not with Air America Radio? Does anyone here know? Hopefully Air America will follow suit and merge with him. It is still unbelievable because Clear Channel controls on the AM stations.  Houston, despite its diverse population has for over ten (10) years been dominated by extreme right wing radio Stations. But with the Ed Shultz in a town like Houston, it shows that progressive voices are making great progress. We should all take solace that Rome was not built in a day.

Why the Poor and Minority Should Back Al Gonzales for SCOTUS

Tue Jul 05, 2005 at 09:03:57 AM PDT

Alberto Gonzales like Senator Obama is a first generation American. Like me he will always remember to respect his roots and his heritage. For this and as as shown below I think we should support Gonzales for the SCOTUS. Do you really think that Al Gonzales will let Jerry Farwell (a Gringo, forgive my French) tell him what to do?  He will take his cue from what this Country as whole has done for him and not from the right wing fringe of this country that tried to hold him down.  We should not forget that Joe Biden (D-MBNA/BOA) gave us Clearance Thomas a black man whom he knew or should have known has a very low self-esteem and who has no identity. Biden had the power to stop him at the Judiciary Committee but he did not. Instead he caused Anita Hill, a fine African American woman to be humiliated by Senator Arlen Specter and others, in front of the world in the Senate
