    Mary Cheney ought to be very ashamed of her parents right now. As a gay male, I would be devistated if my mother went balistic because somebody stood up for me. I am openly gay, never hid it from anyone. If somebody stood up and said that my mom and dad were right to love me and support me for the person that I was born as, and then an hour later to have my own mom come out and say that it was tawdry to do so....I certainly would not be spending the holidays at home. Especialy if my mom was a famous sex novelist. Poor Mary! They didn't even let her go on the stage at the RNC. My heart goes out to anyone who has parents that don't accept them or love them enough! I am glad my parents are proud of me and not ashamed. I don't know how Lynne and Dick can live with themselves.

I forget what network I was watching at the time, but it was a split screen, Kerry attacking and there was a close up of Bush. He had the exact same look as he did when he hid in the classroom for so long on 9/11. It was either just before or after the whole meltdown assault on Gibson. I remember saying aloud "This guy is friggin' NUTS". I seriously believe this man is unhinged! He has the look and temperment of a madman! He scared me....just to think that he has his finger on the button is a frightening thought!

I kid you not. This story is horrendous. The woman had a John Kerry sticker on her car and got fired for it. She now has no income for 3 weeks while the state decides if she can get unemployment. I was there and it was great! A few hundred people screaming! There were about a dozen teens that were fantastic! I was very proud to see them there. There were several pro-Bush losers there but nobody could here them. One sad little woman kept screaming "Kerry is the President of Vietnam". How stupid!  My favorite cheer of the night was " We need a leader not a Liar". Favorite sign..."Bush is a Girley Man".  BTW..They were both my Ideas...

CNN refusing to run a television ad campaign produced by the Log Cabin Republicans.

In a letter to the gay Republican group the Cable News Network said that images in the ad are "too controversial."

The 30-second commercial aims to counter what the gay Republican group sees as an extreme right wing takeover of the party.

Monday, delegates to the Republican National Convention approved a conservative platform that endorses an amendment to the Constitution to prevent gay couples from any form of recognition and calls for curbs on federal judges from ruling in cases involving gay marriage or domestic partnerships. The LCR commercial is being broadcast on other cable stations nationwide.

The ad begins with footage from President Ronald Reagan's 1992 speech at the Republican National Convention in Houston.  President Reagan said, "Whatever else history may say about me when I'm gone, I hope it will record that I appealed to your best hopes, not your worst fears."  

The commercial offers a clear choice for the GOP, the Log Cabin Republicans say: "Either follow President Reagan's lead by uniting Republicans on common beliefs or follow Jerry Falwell, Pat Buchanan and Rick Santorum's lead by dividing the GOP with an intolerant social agenda based on fear and exclusion."

The ad closes with images of the Reverend Fred Phelps holding a sign that reads "God Hates Fags," at the funeral of hate crime victim Matthew Shepard.

"We are deeply disappointed that CNN has refused our voices the opportunity to be heard, said  Log Cabin Executive Director Patrick Guerriero.

"Last week we told the Republican Party that you cannot sugarcoat the vicious and mean-spirited platform, today we want CNN to know that you cannot sugarcoat the politics of fear and intolerance that lead to hate."

The group is so concerned about the platform and President Bush's position on the proposed amendment to ban gay marriage that it will not endorse his reelection bid during the convention.

LCR said it would meet next week to decided what to do about supporting Bush.

Please join me in turning off ALL cable news networks, especialy during the convention. No matter how much you want to turn on CNN...Don't! Use the internet, call your freinds...just don't give them ratings!  No veiwers, no profits!  Shut the lying bastards down!  God Bless America!
