ATTN Congress! Blackberry is Cracked

Fri Jul 06, 2007 at 09:55:09 AM PDT

So

You think Rove was so clever hiding his system on blackberry and other network. And the joke was "Go ask the Russian or the Chinese for a copy of their missing emails"

Well, somebody now published/released the blackberry crack online. (which means it's probably a very old trick already.)

GOP - International Mafia connection?

A small link, but I hope somebody will dig further.

A lot of these stories have a hint that Kontogiannis was perhaps not unfamiliar with organized crime. Not Sopranos style local waste management stuff, but more international. An old Greek Navy man, Kontogiannis knew boats, how to move and launder money, set up front companies, and seemed to have some transport and logistics companies. But here's the thing: when Kontogiannis was confronted with the law in the two cases we know about -- his 1994 guilty plea for visa fraud after he was arrested by the FBI with an official from the US embassy in Athens, and his 2002 guilty plea in the pretty large Queens school district bid rigging scheme, he escaped jail both times. His sentences always seemed pretty light. I am starting to get the sense of someone who may be protected. It occurred to me reading the above article and others as plausible that Kontogiannis might have been useful for a faction of the US government at one time or another.

NASA: No More Science on Space station

Tue Nov 08, 2005 at 03:27:17 PM PDT

NASA is canceling scientific research projects on the International Space Station until construction is complete. This may not happen before 2010 or 2012.

"Utilization of (the station) for research or technology will have to be minimized in favor of first getting it assembled," Griffin said.

Rep. Bart Gordon, a Tennessee Democrat and a senior committee member, expressed concerns that the Bush Administration underfunded its space exploration plan.

"In addition to beginning development of a new manned launch system, expenses to return the shuttle fleet to flight following the 2003 Columbia disaster and delays completing the International Space Station have left NASA with a projected shortfall of up to $5 billion over the next five years"

Anne Rice: my country failed New Orleans

Sat Sep 03, 2005 at 07:16:08 PM PDT

http://www.wwltv.com/topstories/stories/wwl090305annerice.21ad697f.html

But to my country I want to say this: During this crisis you failed us. You looked down on us; you dismissed our victims; you dismissed us. You want our Jazz Fest, you want our Mardi Gras, you want our cooking and our music. Then when you saw us in real trouble, when you saw a tiny minority preying on the weak among us, you called us "Sin City," and turned your backs. Well, we are a lot more than all that. And though we may seem the most exotic, the most atmospheric and, at times, the most downtrodden part of this land, we are still part of it. We are Americans. We are you.

America's economy is the fastest growing of any major industrialized nation. In the past four years, we have provided tax relief to every person who pays income taxes, overcome a recession, opened up new markets abroad, prosecuted corporate criminals, raised homeownership to the highest level in history, and in the last year alone, the United States has added 2.3 million new jobs. When action was needed, the Congress delivered - and the Nation is grateful.

Attacking Leftie Bloggies.

Sat Jan 15, 2005 at 04:19:50 PM PDT

The Dkos/Jerome attack by Wallstreet are not new. It happens to Atrios in December by CBS, using the EXACT same story line.

http://weblog.blogads.com/comments/P936_0_1_0/

The affiliations and identities of bloggers are not always apparent. Take writer Duncan Black, who blogged under the name Atrios. His was a popular liberal blog. During part of the period he was blogging, Black was a senior fellow at a liberal media watchdog group, Media Matters for America. Critics in the blogosphere said this fact wasn't fairly disclosed.
