Tammy Faye Dying

Thu Jul 19, 2007 at 07:46:09 AM PDT

I've always thought of Tammy Faye as an eccentric person yet admired her up beat spirt and refusal to give in.  That's why I was shocked to see this picture of her now.

http://www.etonline.com/...

Apparently she's living in a hospice, weighs 60lbs, has stopped chemo, and in pain 100% of the time.  So I thought it might be a good idea to take a second and offer up a prayer for her if you see fit.

Thank you

MSNBC New Host Should be Joe Madison

Wed Apr 11, 2007 at 06:48:31 PM PDT

I use to see him on Hardball and was dissapointed when he stopped coming on.  It would be an easy transition.  He has a provactive radio show with a huge Black Audience.  He came to my area this year to speak at an event for Martin Luther King's Bithday and my young girls were really inspired.  I think this would be a win-win situation that would be a bright spot in a huge mess.  If you could say, "Okay Kaplan move over, the next host will be ______".  Your choice would be who?

MD- PG County Blacks went Steele?

Tue Nov 21, 2006 at 07:44:27 AM PDT

Lately I've been reading the Afro mostly because my husband reads it.  Today I noticed a little tid bit.  I'm originally from PG and would never had guessed in a million years that PG could ever go Republican.  You can imagine my surprise when I came across this one particular excerpt below the jump

Update:  The consensus, based on the comments, seems to be the information is inaccurate.  I'll email a request for a clarification

Dear Lord, thank you for Howard Dean

Wed Nov 08, 2006 at 09:15:26 AM PDT

Dear God,
Two years ago I couldn't understand why you would allow a beautiful man like Howard Dean to go down in flames, a could man who was persecuted for the sin of being truthful.  But I'm reminded of the story of Job.

Political Burnout? Lets talk LOST

Wed Oct 25, 2006 at 05:42:49 AM PDT

In view of me sensing myself becoming burnout with 16 days left until the election I figured I'd take a one day vacation from all the politcal  back and forth.  With that, I thought it would be interesting to see if there are any LOST fans on this site.  More on the flip for spoilers

Daughter given a conservative leaning school project. How should I handle this?

Mon Apr 24, 2006 at 11:34:13 AM PDT

Update: Thank you all for your advice. I'm going to sit down with my husband when he gets in from work and discuss. This is a sticky situation for me so your advice is much appreciated!!! My daughter was given the following project by her Social Studies teacher which seems to be a bit skewed to the right.  She attends a private, religious school that receives a tax exemption.  The last time a teacher gave a wingnut project I complained to the school administrators threatening to contact authorities regarding the school's tax exemption if they continued to insert politics into the curriculum. The school dealt with the issue and I had no further problems until now. Problem is I really like this teacher on a personal level so I really don't want to get her in trouble.  At the same time know that I have to address the issue.  What should I do?  Here's the project-

Do Repulican Voters Know

Sat Oct 29, 2005 at 07:31:23 AM PDT

That their leaders are proposing to

  1.  Freeze the cost of living increase for all Federal Employees- not just democrat federal employees but all Federal employees

  2.  Implement a 5% cut in spending for all programs except the military- not just programs for democrats but programs for all Americans.

I learned this after watching McCain speaking at the Heritage foundation on Federal Spending Wednesday (see cspan for the tape).  McCain even had the nerve to make excuses for Bush's sorry *ss Social Security Plan.  You know what really annoys me- Public figures who attempt to put forth an independant persona when in reality they're as much of a wingnut Rush Limbaugh.  Why not just keep it real.  I can tolerate the truth much better.

Is Rush Limbaugh quietly soliciting Dem's help on Miers

Thu Oct 20, 2005 at 04:30:33 PM PDT

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1506208/posts

hmmmm....sounds to me like Rush is basically saying:

Hey Dem's, you and I don't agree on anything and basically hate each other, but lets put that to the side for a moment.   We Republicans can't go out and trash Miers but you can.  Go for it.

What do you think?  Or did I read between the wrong lines?

Possible Sign of Indictments on the Horizon?

Wed Oct 19, 2005 at 02:39:59 PM PDT

from hotlines blog....

Some Democrats off the Hill were taken by surprise when the House suddenly recessed this afternoon. Leaders were headed to the White House. Could it be a signal that bad news was looming?

Probably not -- the meeting was added to schedules this morning, and it's billed by sources as a summit where Bush will talk with them about Miers, Katrina, budgets, and more. And if you think about it, when was the last time when Bush met with his Congressional leadership team?

blogformamerica.com.  Last year, a few made the comparison of Howard Dean to Job from the book of Job.  While I fully admit I haven't been much of a religious person my entire life, I have read the bible twice with great interest.  As you recall, Job loss all- his home, wealth, social standing, friends and family.   God allowed Satan to do these deeds as a test of Job's will.  In the end, the Lord rewarded Job by repaying him in multitudes.
